In connection with the British Club, the

notice calling the Annual General Meeting for
October the 12th at 3 p. m. The meeting has
been called for a Saturday in order to study
the convenience of the greater number of

The Last Post
Too late for insertion in this column of the
paper, news was received that the necessary
arrangements had been completed for the
continuation of the ceremony of the Last
Post throughout the whole year, last
week-end.
For readers of this column, the following
translation of the article which appeared in
Flemish and in French in last week's Region
d'Yptes Het Ypersche is made
The daily Last Post which up till
now has only been sounded at the Menin
Gate Memorial during the summer season,
will be continued throughout the winter. This
homage to the British dead will be continued
at the hour of 9 p. m., until the i5th instant,
but from that hour onwards will be sounded
at eight P. M.
Space will not permit the writer to express
to the full the general satisfaction that is felt,
ac the successful conclusion of the efforts of
the local Syndicat d'Initiative to this end,
but in a very few words he wishes to make
known the fact that the local British Colony
look upon this decision as just one more ex
pression of Ypres good feeling towards
Britishers and the British Empire, and
perhaps the finest gesture of remembrance
that has yet been made.
