obtained after that map had been designed, but the War Office has again come to our
rescue with another map which we have permission to publish and which includes the
ground where the German cemeteries are situatedthe references printed are for the
information of those in possession of other maps. The total number of German cemeteries
in the area described is 177, and the total number of burials (German) in them is 86,700.
The panoramic photograph of the Poperinghe Cemetery, which is also reproduced,
was done by Mr. H. W. Kemp, 7 Rue de 1'Abdication, Brussels, who has done some
excellent panoramic photos of cemeteries. This particular one presents many features
of great interest and is a good example of this type.
In conclusion, I trust that this information will interest readers of the Ypres Times,"
and that relatives as well as those who served in the immortal defence of the Salient will
thus continue to be kept in touch by the Ypres League with the doings in the Salient,
and lastly we shall ever bear in mind the true meaning of that beautifully named cemetery-
