THE KINQ AND LABOUR CORPS MEM
ORIAL AT BLAIROOWRIE.
Mrs. Beck, Rosebank Manse, having forwarded
to His Majesty The King a copy of the souvenir
describing the large beautiful stained glass window
in the Riverside Methodist Church, Blairgowrie,
erected to the memory of the members of the
Labour Corps who lost their lives in the war,
received the following reply from His Majesty's
Private Secretary
Sandringham, Norfolk.
7th January, 1927.
Dear Madam,I am desired to thank you
for your letter of December 14th, addressed to the
King, and the accompanying pamphlet concerning
the window in the Wesleyan Riverside Church
at Blairgowrie.
His Majesty was interested to hear the history
of this War Memorial to members of the Labour
Corps, and much admired the form which it has
taken.Yours very truly,
A. H. L. STANHOPE."
Blairgowrie was the headquarters of the Labour
Corps during the war, and the above is the only
memorial in the British Empire to the men be
longing to that corps who gave their lives for
their King and country. The window has been
greatly admired by all who have seen it.
