Extracts from letters of appreciation addressed to the Secretary, Ypres League -
2nd LONDON REGIMENTAL ASSOCIATION—TO ARRAS, APRIL 17th-22nd.
Thank you for all you have done everything was a great success, and the party say that they
will come next year to anywhere we like to go.
I shall come and see you nearer the time for your advice. We should not mind staying at
either Ostend or Bruges. We could then have a day's sight-seeing of Ghent and Brussels, and another
trip to Ypres or Zeebrugge.
Any time you have any suggestions to make I shall be pleased to have them. I would like, if
possible, to make arrangements earlier than I did this year regarding the cost, and where we are going,
because many want to pay me something on account, month by month.W. A. Francis, Hon.
Secretary, April 25th, 1930."
85th CLUB—TO YPRES, MAY 9th-12th.
In sending you the latest copy of the 85th Club Magazine, which you will, we hope, find of interest,
the Committee wish me to tender to you their very sincere thanks for your kindness and help during
the recent week-end tour. The Club owes you a very great debt of gratitude for the way in which our
path was made smooth and for the excellent hotel arrangements which everyone enjoyed.
It is our hope that, should we embark on a tour next year, we shall be able to have your valuable
services to guide us. Thanking you again for all your efforts, which have been, and are, very much
appreciated. Believe me to be, Alfred Skinner, Hon. Secretary, May 14th, 1930."
ATHERSTONE BRANCH, BRITISH LEGION—TO YPRES, AUGUST 2nd-5th.
On behalf of the party from Atherstone and myself, I wish you to accept our very best thanks
for the way the tour was conducted. I might say that they all enjoyed the trip very much and are
looking forward to another one next year. We were all extremely grateful at the pleasure of your
company and trust we shall have the opportunity of meeting you again.g. W. Baxter, Hon. Secretary,
August 20th, 1930."
WHALEY BRANCH, BRITISH LEGION—TO FRANCE AND BELGIUM, AUGUST 9th-16th.
I feel that I must let you know that the party voted the tour the best holiday ever experienced
and it will not be the last. I particularly wish to record the appreciation of the party to Mr. Parminter
(Ypres League representative at Ypres) and Monsieur Kock of the Hotel Splendid and Britannique, and
it is saying something when I tell you that no complaints of any kind have been made.T. Marsland,
Chairman, September 1st, 1930."

Your letter of the 8th inst. to hand. I enclose my cheque for A3 to cover cost of memorial brass

dozen copies sent me.
I suggest as wording To the Glory of God and in Memory of the 64 officers and 1,335 N.C.Os. and
