We shall have, in a later issue of the Ypres Times, good news to report concerning this year's Annual Concert, which takes place at the Caxton Hall on Ypres Day, Saturday, October 31st. A programme of exceptional merit is already promised us, and apart from strong professional support we have been asked to appeal for amateur actors and vocalists amongst our League members resident in London, who would be able to undertake evening rehearsals commencing at the latter end of September, Will any interested member please communicate with the Concert Committee, Ypres League, 9, Baker Street, W.i. REUNION DINNER AND DANCE. The London County Committee wish to draw your attention to the Seventh Annual Reunion Dinner, to be held this year on May 7th, at the Royal Hotel, Woburn Place, W.C.i (See page 190.) It is hoped that we shall see a record attendance, because this is the only Reunion Dinner held in London during the year, so we trust that as many as possible will favour us with their presence. We want you and your friends to come. Success depends on individual mem bers and the help they are able to give us by advertising this important and popular function. Application for tickets, together with remit tance (price 6s. 6d. per ticket), should be sent to the Hon. Secretary, London County Committee, Ypres League, 9, Baker Street, W.i. The London County Committee strongly reminds its members about an announcement which appeared in the last edition of the Ypres Times under the above heading, and call upon the London members to be up and doing." If only every member in the London area would contribute a fair share in the recruiting, by December 31st we shall be able to show a good result. But the fact remains that many of us prefer to leave it to the other fellow," the consequence of which nothing is done. The work must not fall upon a few. If you are a London member please put your back into it and get at least one new member into our ranks before the end of the year. This is not asking too much of you, and please see that the application form is marked London County Committee." of the will take place on Thursday, April, 9th, 1931 at the at 7.15 p.m. The business will be to receive the Report of the London County Committee for the past year and to elect the Committee for the ensuing year. Dear Sir, We beg to acknowledge receipt of a photo graph you obtained of a soldier's grave in France, namely, the late 749 Pte. H. W. Smith, 31st Bn. A.I.F., who was buried in Heilly Station Ceme tery. We wish to commend you on securing us the photograph. For a period extending over five years we had been endeavouring to secure this photograph through the Defence Depart ment, and they in turn were negotiating with St. Barnabas' Hostels, but to no avail. How ever, to the credit of the Ypres League, within a few months of our original request the photo graph was forthcoming, which we much appreciate. The Ypres League is well represented in Bris bane, and we are maintaining the traditions and dignity for which the word Ypres stands. With all best wishes to our headquarters. Yours faithfully, C. H. Green, G. Lawson, Queensland Representatives, Ypres League.
