INFORMAL GATHERINGS.
We beg to express our sincere thanks to all
who have so ably assisted the work of the Branch
during the past quarter which made the Gather
ings so successful, and grateful thanks are due to
those who have made a regular attendance.
These Informals help so much to extend the
spirit of comradeship and goodwill towards one
another, so badly needed in these difficult times,
and it is the League's great endeavour to main
tain this fine fellowship.
Two of the last quarter's Gatherings were of an
entirely impromptu nature, and it was very
pleasing to discover so much talent among those
who offered their services.
The variety programme on May 19th was
kindly provided by Mr. O. Mears, of Head
quarters, and he is*deserving of the Committee's
congratulations on having procured such
splendid artistes, and we hope that he may feel
disposed to give us another evening's entertain
ment next winter. Also on the same occasion,
Mr. F. G. Richardson, a member of St. Dunstan's,
gave us an exceedingly inspiring talk on the
work of that organization. His remarks were
closely followed by all present, and it was very
gratifying to learn that such good work was
being done for our blinded brothers. At the
conclusion of his interesting discourse, a collec
tion was made for the benefit of St. Dunstan's.
The London County Committee are now
busily engaged in preparing the next season's
programmes, and they look forward to renewed
support from members and friends. Those
wishing to offer their services should send their
names to Mr. J. Boughey who will be pleased to
send fixture dates for selection.
Invitations to the Gatherings will be sent to
any friends whose names and addresses are
submitted by members.
The Photograph Album is nearing com
pletion and will shortly be on view at the
Informals.
It is the intention of the London County Com
mittee to go out strongly for the recruiting prize
offered by Headquarters, but this is only possible
by individual support, and it is up to each of us
to help to achieve this object.
The Tenth Annual Smoking Concert is being
held on Thursday, October 27th, 1932, at the
Caxton Hall, Caxton Street, Victoria Street,

we want a record function, and earnestly request

ful attendance in the past has fully justified the
heavy preliminary work necessary in the

another Full Houseon October 27th.
