As we go to Press we hear that Major General
John F. O'Ryan, D.S.M., K.C.M.G., C.V.O.,
President of the Ypres League in the United
States, has been appointed Police Commissioner
of New York, and we take this opportunity to
convey to the General our hearty congratulations.
RE-UNION DINNER.
A re-union dinner of the 128th Field Com
pany Royal Engineers is to take place on
April 14th, 1934, at the Leicester Corner
House, Leicester Square, London, W.C.2. All
members interested are invited to communicate

YPRES LEAGUE TIE.
At the request of the majority of our members
we have been pleased to produce the tie in better
quality silk and in a darker shade of cornflower
blue relieved by a narrow gold stripe. The
price is 3s. 6d.,post free, and all members of the
League should possess one.

We have much honour to insert in this
current edition of the Ypres Times an article
entitled "Some Stray Lines About Ypres,"
from the valuable pen of Mr. Stephen Graham.
We would like to add that Mr. Graham
wrote a special article on the last Armistice
Day Parade for the "Sunday Graphic."
GRAND' PLACE Opposite Cloth Hall.
Madam Stiles Allen, the famous dramatic
soprano, sang Captain R. Henderson-Bland's
poem "Unknown Warrior" (music by Teresa
del Reigo) at the Central Hall, Westminster,
on Armistice night, and later in the evening
at the Town Hall, Woolwich.
This poem, originally printed in "The
Graphic" and a few years back sung over the
radio on Armistice night by Madam Stiles
Allen was reprinted in an article by Captain
Bland which was published in the January,
1932 edition of The Ypres Times.
YPRES LEAGUE BADGE.

defending the Salient, which was the gate to the
Channel Ports.
