THE map includes Brandhoek on the west, Passchendaele on the east, Langemarch on the north,
and Wytschaete on the south.
A specimen section will be sent to any reader showing the large amount of interesting detail which
the map will contain. The principal British Trenches, and the German trenches at the beginning of
the third Battle of Ypres, July, 1917, will be shown in a special printing of red on the complete map,
and will include the whole Salient from near Steenstraat on the north to Wytschaete on the soujh.
A green line shows the approximate position occupied by the Allied Armies at the beginning
of the first battle, October-November, 1914, and a blue line indicates the position of second battle,
April-May, 1915 A special red line gives the approximate position reached by the Allies at the end
of the 1917 offensive.
The position of the Army and Corps Headquarters are shown as far as possible by special symbols.
