/IS President of the Ypres League I wish to offer to all my old Comrades in the field my heart-felt wishes for a Happy'New Year. Having regard to the adverse conditions which have hampered us so much in 1Q21 and which have fallen on the whole community, we have great reason to congratulate ourselves on the progress we have made in face of such difficulties. This only goes to prove the estimation in which the name of Ypres is held by all who served in that blood-stained Salient. We want our thoughts to rally and encamp amidst that sacred ground where the earthly remains of so many of our Comrades lie at rest. We want to extend our living help to those maimed brothers-in arms who held itand we want to encourage and facilitate a constant personal touch with those associations which arc rooted in mutual work and suffering. In asking the League to accept my best wishes for 1Q22 I would earnestly beg each individual member to give every possible help in swelling its numbers and promoting its objects. Inset to Ypres Times, January, 1922.
