After standing in silent tribute to the memory
of fallen comrades, an informal discussion was
opened and views were exchanged in respect to
the progress, activities and membership of the
League the opinion of the meeting, in respect
to membership, was that in these hard times the
subscription of 5s. a year was too high for the
large mass of the rank and file who served in the
Salient to pay, while at the same time it was
agreed that members were receiving splendid
value for their money. Tea followed, and there
was a general interchange of reminiscences of
the old days in the Salient. Members who had lost
relatives received valuable hints as to the Pil
grimage to Ypres from those who had made recent
visits.
After tea the new march song, Wipers," was
kindly sung by Mrs. Jackson and was much
appreciated by all present. The meeting ended
with a general expression of a desire for further
re-unions and a hope of an increase in membership
in the area.

have sent to their Patron-in-Chief from their
annual re-union concert. His Majesty feels sure
that their late President will be in the thoughts of
all present and that the name of Lord Ypres will
always be held in affectionate and grateful
memory by every member of the Ypres League."
A telegram was also received from General Sir

Committee), which read Every good wish for
the most successful re-union this evening."
The Chairman welcomed all present and
announced the name of the successful competitor

Darewski.
Major Ainsworth-Davis replied on behalf of the
London County Committee and after thanking the

the League as a living force in the Empire.
The entertainment which, but for short inter

versatile performance which was obviously very
much to the liking of all present. Captain Turner
offered at short notice to introduce to the League
their new march-song Wipers," with which he
scored a well-deserved success.
The entertainment closed at a late hour (which
seemed much too early) and the London County

of the past and cementing the bonds of good
fellowship born of the Great War.
LONDON COUNTY COMMITTEE.
INFORMAL MEETINGS.
There must be many ex-Service men living in
different parts of London who may wish to meet
old comrades, and the informal gatherings
organised by the London County Committee offer
such an opportunity for meeting each other and
having a quiet talk over old times and renewing
friendships. The first informal gathering for this
session wTas held on Thursday, 3rd December, at
9, Baker Street, W.l. These gatherings have
met with success, as is shown by the larger
number attending each successive meeting. The
Committee hope that members will make these
gatherings well known to all their friends, and
they extend a very hearty welcome to prospective
members and all interested in the League. It is
