The Ypres Times. 40 Canada where the Ypres film is now being presented, we have compiled an illustrated pamphlet entitled Canada in the Ypres Salient. The letterpress comprises articles on Canada's battles in 1915, 1916 and 1917. The aims and objects of the League are also described in detail, and a perforated application form for membership is included. If sufficient members are enrolled it is hoped to form a branch of the League in this important Dominion. I may add that we shall be pleased to supply copies of the pamphlet to those interested. In concluding this brief survey of our work and interests at headquarters, we wish you all a happy Easter and ask that in thought you will follow us in our pilgrimage to a spot hallowed for all time in the eyes of English men and women. WHAT THE LEAGUE HAS DONE. (1) Organised inexpensive travel and hotel accommodation for pilgrims to the Salient and War Graves. (2) Established Headquarters and a Rest Room at Ypres (19, Rue Surmont de Volsberghe). (3) Published The Ypres Times quarterly for four years. (4) Published maps of the Salient and Cemeteries. (5) Erected seven granite pylons in the Ypres Salient to mark the extreme German advance 1. On the St. Jean Wieltje Road, leading to Shell Trap Farm. 2. Near Potijze on the Zonnebeke Road. 3. Hell Fire Corner on the Menin Road. 4. The railway crossing by the Zillebeke River on the Hill 60 road. 5. Near Trois Rois on the Lille Road. 6. A point near Yoormezeele on the Kemmel Road. 7. Near Vierstraat on the Kemmel Road. (6) Given assistance and advice to ex-soldiers over employment and pensions, etc. (7) Commemorated Ypres Day on October 31st at home and abroad. (8) Held re-unions of members in London and the provinces. (9) Maintained cordial relations with dwellers on the battlefields. (10) Organised a Junior Division. (11) Published a guide book called The Immortal Salient now in the third edition. The Immortal Salient has been compiled with the assistance of the War Office and the Historical Section of the Committee of Imperial Defence. It provides a historical record with maps, in addition to being a complete guide to the Salient of Ypres. (Publishers, John Murray.) To be obtained from the Ypres League, price 5/- post free, 5s. 4d. (12) Erected forty signboards marking the historic spots in the Salient. The League is now compiling The Ypres Book of Valoura history of notable deeds contributed by all regiments. A scheme is also under consideration for a memorial belfry in the Salient. DONATIONS. We wish to convey most sincere thanks to our members who have given such kind donations to the Ypres League over and above their annual subscriptions. These donations are received with the greatest gratitude. WREATHS ON WAR GRAVES IN FRANCE AND BELGIUM. Arrangements are made by the Ypres League to place wreaths for relatives on the graves of British soldiers situated in France and Belgium at the following times of the vear EASTER, ARMISTICE DAY, CHRISTMAS. The wreaths nlay be composed of natural flowers, laurel or holly, and can be bought at the following prices:lis. 6d., 15s. 6d., and 20s., according to the size and quality of the wreath. The above prices to include placing on the grave and one unmounted photograph and negative, post card size, which will be sent to the relative, showing the wreath in position. For wreaths placed at the request of relatives on special dates, other than Easter, Armistice Day and Christmas, an extra charge will be necessary, according to the location of the grave. Applications for wreaths should be sent to the Secretary, together with remittance, giving the regimental particulars of the soldier, name of cemetery, and number of plot, row and grave. PHOTOGRAPHS OF WAR ORAVES. The Ypres League has made arrangements whereby it is able to supply photographs (nega tive, and one print, post card size, unmounted) of graves situated in the Ypres Salient, and in the Hazebrouck and Armentières areas at the price of 10s. each. All applications for photographs should be sent to the Secretary, together with remittance and regimental particulars of the soldier, name of cemetery, and number of plot, row and grave. MEMBERSHIP OF THE LEAGUE. This is open to all who served in the Salient, and to all those whose relatives or friends died there, in order that they may have a record of that service for themselves and their descendants, and belong to the comradeship of men and women who understand and remember all that Ypres meant in suffering and endurance. Life membership £2 10s. Annual members, 5s. Special charges are made to those who cannot afford the 5s. subscription. Do not let the fact of your not having served in the Salient deter you from joining the Ypres League. Those who have neither fought in the Salient nor lost relatives there, but who are in sympathy with the objects of the Ypres League, are admitted to its fellowship, but in their case it is not possible to issue a scroll certificate. There is also a J unior Division to which children of those who served in the Salient, also those who sympathise with our objects, have a right to belong. Annual subscription Is. up to the age of 18, after which they can become ordinary members of the League.
