INDIAN JIM
Say, Jim, what takes you
Into the silent wild
Just the call of what lies yonder
That rang in my ears as a child.
For the restless blood of my fathers
Is crying me ever on."
There they had tracked the Grizzly,
Before the white man came.
There they had hunted the great Moose
(■914-1924).
Before the laws of game.
So the hunting blood of my fathers
Is crying me ever on."
You were through the Great War,
I heard how well you had done."
But his face changed not its expression
As he rose and shouldered his gun.
Just the war blood of my fathers
Was crying me ever on."
