The London County Committee are very pleased to report that the Informal Gatherings held during the past three months have proved a great success and they wish to extend their thanks to all members and friends who have, by their co-operation, sup ported them at these gatherings. The members attending have increased at each meeting, and the Committee are gratified in the kind interest taken in the League by the members. The Gatherings usually take place on the first Thursday in every month, and the invitation is extended to all members of the League and their friends. At the Gathering on February 3rd an interesting lantern talk on Ypres was given by Major Montague-Jones, O.B.E- (Chairman of the London County Committee) to a crowded room, and it was well worth a visit to go over -once again the old landmarks of the Salient and to again renew old acquaintances with the past. It is hoped that in the near future we may have another talk on the Salient. The London County Committee would be grate ful if members will make these Gatherings known to any ex-Service friend and any others interested in the work of the League, as it is only by in dividual co-operation that the success of these meetings can be achieved. The following dates have been fixed for the next three months Thursday, 7th April, 1927 Thursday, 5th May and Thursday, 2nd June and will all please book these dates. Members are asked to send along a card inviting some friend to the Gathering or the Hon. Secretary of the London County Committee will be pleased to forward an invitation on being supplied with the name and address. The Gatherings are held at the George Hotel, 213, Strand, W.C.2 (entrance through Devereux Court), opposite the Law Courts, from 6.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. A piano is available, and any help in the way of songs which will add to the entertain ment of the evening will be greatly appreciated.
