YPRES LEAGUE TIE.
The Ypres League Tie is now on sale, price 3s. 6d., post free. The tie is made of
good quality silk in a pretty shade of cornflower blue, relieved by a narrow gold stripe.
The tie has proved very popular, and every member of the League should wear one.

MADRID BRANCH.
A very successful reception of members of the Ypres League was held at Covarrubias 9, Madrid,
on May 19th to commemorate the anniversary of the Second Battle of Ypres. The guests were received
by Capt. P. W. Burgess, Corresponding Member to the Madrid Branch of the League, and by his sister,
at six o'clock. A select programme of music was given by the Milanes Trio and the Misses F. Moore
and E. E. Clifford.
Among those present were Lady E. C. Rumbold, C.B.E. (Sir Horace Rumbold was prevented
from attending), the Staff of the British Embassy, the British Commercial Secretary and Mrs. Adams,
the French Commercial Attaché and Madame Juge, the British Consul and Mrs. White, the British
Military Attaché, the British Embassy Chaplain and Mrs. Williams, and Senor J. Julia y Martinez,
M.B.E. The British and French members of the League and their friends were also present.
LONDON COUNTY COMMITTEE.
The London County Committee held their
Annual Meeting at the George Hotel, 213,
Strand, W.C.2, on Thursday, April 12th, when
a report of the work done during the past year
in the London area was read and duly passed.
The chair was taken by Capt. C. Alliston.
In reviewing the report it is worthy of note
that the attendance at the Informal Gatherings
held every month has greatly increased, whereby
new members have been added to the League.
The Committee also note the keen interest
taken by members in these gatherings and
record their grateful thanks. The various
undertakings which have been organized during
the past year have all achieved success and the
Committee greatly appreciate the help given
by all friends who have supported them so
generously. In conclusion the report appealed
for the hearty support of members during the
present year and welcomed all new members
in the London area. Emphasis was laid on
the gatherings held every month and all were
urged to advertise and also to take a keen
personal interest in them.
After the report had been passed the members
of the London County Committee who retired
by rotation, being again eligible, were duly
