We think the standard may be looked upon as representing the colours of every regiment and corps in the British Army, and we know it will receive its full share of respect and reverence which the soldier pays to his colours. We have to remember that the colours will outlast all of us who served in the Great War. So it is felt that, as far as possible, we should make some provision for their future and it is suggested that when, in the fullness of time their practical utility has ceased, no better home can be found than the Church of St. George, at Ypres, where we may confidently expect the colours to hang for many generations, as a reminder to those who come after that Band of Brothers, which is to-day known as the Ypres League. N.B.Arrangements are being made for the colours to be presented and consecrated at a Special Parade to be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 1st. All members of the League are asked to keep this day open. Full particulars will be sent to all concerned as soon as the arrangements are complete. The London County Committee of the Ypres League are organizing the arrangements for the parade, and members are invited to take their part at this great gathering. We are anxious to secure as many members as possible and invite each member to bring with him an ex-service man, in order that the League may be well represented. If you are willing to be present, will you please fill in the slip, forward it to the Hon. Secretary, London County Committee, Ypres League, 9, Baker Street, Portman Square, W.i, stating whether you will be present, and also how many friends you hope to bring with you, and full particulars will be forwarded in due course. Uniform should be worn where possible, otherwise Morning Dress with medals. It is hoped to arrange a Social on the evening of June 1st, to which all will be heartily invited and if you intend to be present please state on slip. I shall be willing to attend the Parade and hope to bring... friends with me. Please forward me full particulars in due course. Name Address I shall also be willing to attend the Social.
