phot°] TENTH ANNIVERSARY PARADE. THE SERVICE CONDUCTED BY
The Pipers of the Scots
that "we do not intend to forget those called to higher service than the service
of King and country.
It was indeed inspiring to see that great gathering on the Horse Guards Parade
honoured by the presence of H.R.H. Princess Beatrice: Our old and loved leader
in the Salient, Field-Marshal the Viscount Plumer of Messines; the Viscountess
Plumer; the Belgian Ambassador; Colonel Voruz, Military Attaché to the French
Embassy; Major-Genl. Sir G. Ryrie, High Commissioner for Australia; and Lady
RyrieLieut.-Genl. Sir W. P. Pulteney; Lieut.-Genl. Sir H. Uniacke; Brig.-Genl.
Burt; and other distinguished personages, not to mention the hundreds of
others present to honour the memory of our old comrades who went and returned
not this all seemed to hammer home the lesson "We will not forget."
They shall not grow old, as we who are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the rising of the sun, and in the evening
We will remember them."
