THE YPRES TIMES ist/6th Battalion Cheshire Regiment (both of the 118th Infantry Brigade), sweep over the German trenches in front of the point known as Koyli West, and join us on the banks of the Ancre. A tank was to co-operate on our right. Our companies assembled without incident. They were each only 90 strong. subsidiary attack was to be at right angles to the main battle, the artillery prepara tion for which, it was hoped, would keep the enemy opposite us imprisoned in their dug-outs.
