Vol. 5, No. 7 Published Quarterly July, 1931 A REPRESENTATIVE congregation of one hundred visitors from England and about two hundred from Ypres and the neighbourhood attended a memorial service at 9.30 a.m. in St. George's Church on June 7th, con ducted by the Bishop of Fulham. In a well-chosen address the Bishop expressed the deep regret of all at the absence of Field-Marshal Viscount Plumer on account of ill-health, and emphasized the importance of the occasion wbich had brought them together. He further laid stress on the generosity of the Belgian Govern ment in granting civil status to the Ypres British Settlement. After the hymn God of our Fathers had been sung, General Sir William Pulteney, in the absence of Lord Plumer asked the Bishop "to dedicate the memorials in affectionate memory of our comrades who made the supreme sacri fice." The representatives of units and relatives then placed themselves close to the memorials with which they were connected, and commencing on the south side of the chancel and church, and returning by the west and north sides to the chancel, the Bishop dedicated the following memorials: Royal Air Force.Lord Trenchard, Wing Commander W.
