HE Ypres League Annual Commemoration will be held on Sunday, October 30th,
and the following arrangements have been made
2.30 p.m. Assemble on the Horse Guards Parade.
3 p.m. Address, and Lament by Pipers of the 2nd Bn. Scots Guards.
3.15 p.m. March to the Cenotaph.
3.30 p.m. Laying of the Ypres League Wreath on the Cenotaph.
3.45 p.m. March back to the Horse Guards Parade.
4 p.m. Dismiss on the Horse Guards Parade, and at 4.30 p.m. an Ypres
League deputation will proceed to the Tomb of the Unknown
Warrior and place a wreath.
H.R.H. Princess Beatrice has graciously consented to attend the service and lay
the League wreath on the Cenotaph.
General Sir Charles H. Harington will receive Her Royal Highness on the Horse
Guards Parade at 3 p.m. Music will be provided by the 1st Surrey Rifles.
Plain clothes and medals to be worn (uniform optional).
It is expected that members of the Ypres League will make every effort to be present
at this Commemoration.
Owing to the great success and popularity of our 1931 Competition, we have
decided to offer two prizes, each of £5, to be awarded as follows
(1) To any Ypres League Member or Corresponding Member
(2) To any Branch Secretary
For the greatest number of new members recruited from
January 1st to December 31st, 1932.
All membership forms completed must be received at Headquarters, bearing on
the top left-hand corner, the name and address of the person or branch, whichever the
case may be, responsible for the recruitments.
