THE YPRES TIMES
69
R. P. Benson,
After the war he commanded the Rawalpindi Division and for some months the
Northern Army in India. He was made Colonel Commandant of the Regiment in 1927
and Lieutenant of the Tower of London the same year. To the end of his life and during
his long illness he took the keenest interest in the Regiment and in old soldiers generally.
He was Chairman of the Executive Committee Artillery House and Vice-President of the
Old Contemptibles' Association.
Requiescat in pace
Brig.-General.

THE LATE SIR HERBERT UNIACKE
The Ypres League has sustained a great loss in the death of Sir Herbert Uniacke, who has been
for many years a most staunch and highly esteemed supporter of our cause. Sir Herbert was a
familiar figure at our Ypres Day Commemoration Parades in London, and frequently presided
at the League's Annual Reunion Dinners and Smoking Concerts. The practical help he so generously
extended can never be measured in words and his v;ise counsel as a member of the Executive Committee
will be sadly missed.
We express our deepest sympathy to Lady Uniacke and family in their great bereavement.
