Four-Footed Friends No. I.Gunteam after the Armistice in Belgium. THE three Drivers in the picture drove the original No. 1 Gun out from England and the final one back to Calais. No other drivers ever had charge of "A" Sub section Gunteam. They were the leading team of the battery from first to last Any horseman will appreciate the keen bold stamp of the leaders in this splendid team of Australian horses. The six horses were bright bays perfectly matched in colour. The centre pair were as active as cats, the wheelers were gluttons for work, indomitable and great-hearted. THE YPRES TIMES By A. Douglas Thorburn, M.A. (Capt. R.F.A., S.R., Retd.) (Author of Amateur Gunners.)
