Annual Dance.
On Friday, November 8th, the Second Annual
Dance of the Branch was held at the Greyhound
Hotel, Croydon. The function, brimful of good
comradeship, was a huge success and greatly
enjoyed by the company of 313. Tom Newman
and his band ably provided the dance music,
and during the evening Giovanni and Leonard
Henry were both in excellent form in their
individual entertainments. The Committee filled
in any small gaps by supplying the usual
splendid hats, balloons, spot dance prizes, etc.
Lieut. N. A. Zinn again kindly undertook the
duties of M.C., and his graceful figure stamps
him as particularly suitable for the job, which
he admirably carried out as expected.
Grateful thanks are due to the Committee,
especially to the Chairman, Captain R. L. Haine,
V.C., M.C. Captain A. S. Green, the Dance
Secretary also to Mrs. Zinn and Mrs. Mutton,
who co-operated most successfully.
Armistice Day Parade.
On Sunday, November 10th, the Annual
Armistice Day Parade was held when a party
of 41 members of the Purley Branch attended
a united Memorial Service at St. Mark's Church,
Peaks Hill, Purley.
KENYA BRANCH.
Through the staunch work of Colonel G. J.
Henderson, the Kenya Branch of the Ypres
League found it possible to repeat the ceremony
of past years in placing a wreath, herewith
reproduced, on the Nairobi Cenotaph" on Armis
tice Day, and we would like to express our
gratitude to Colonel Henderson and other
generous subscribers whose names are not yet
to hand but will be mentioned in the next
edition of the Ypres Times.
The wreath was a very beautiful one and
composed chiefly of cornflowers, groups of lilies
with a few red carnations and attached was a
card inscribed as follows
In Memory of the Noble Dead, 1914-1918.
From the Ypres League,
